Responsibilities
  • Designs and generate creative and high-quality content for marketing campaigns to include marketing materials for a variety of media platforms including ads, posters, brochures, postcards, e-cards and university publications for the Department of Student Engagement and the department's offices (SAI, SG&A, and SOI.)
  • Adheres to FSU's branding standards to maintain a unified and consistent look of visually appealing graphics, videos, and other multimedia content and interacts with staff in the Division of Student Affairs Marketing and Communications Office and staff from throughout the division to determine project requirements and priorities to ensure timely production of high-quality promotional materials.
  • Coordinates with the office business manager and procurement resources to prepare digital files and invoices appropriately for vendors to meet production deadlines within project budget.
  • Develop and execute social media strategies to enhance brand visibility and engagement and create and curate compelling content for various social media platforms for the Department of Student Engagement ensuring alignment with brand and goals.
  • Monitor social media channels for trends, opportunities, and user engagement.
  • Works closely with DSA Marketing and Communications to promote signature programs including Homecoming and Welcome FSU.
  • Works collaboratively with the Director for Student Engagement, the departments' directors and DSA Marketing and Communications to ensure that high-quality marketing materials are produced in a timely manner.
  • Reviews, proofs, and offers constructive critiques of student organizations designers' and assist in the design of students' work across the department when called upon to help create an atmosphere of creative brainstorming to meet the department's need for a positive, dynamic visual image.
  • Assists marketing and communications students as needed by mentoring them on design and writing principles and technical issues.
  • Ensures that skills are kept current through on-the-job training, review of professional publications, online resources, and training.
  • Assists with ensuring student organizations and groups adhere to university branding guidelines as described in university policies and regulations.
  • Assists with some departmental web updates, monitors key performance indicators to measure the success of social media and marketing efforts, and prepares reports with recommendations for improvement.
  • Perform administrative functions to support multimedia design work.
  • Maintain project files and project tracking in an efficient and timely manner.
Qualifications

A Bachelor's degree and two years of experience; or a high school diploma or equivalent and six years of experience. (Note: a combination of post high school education and experience equal to six years.)

  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to convey technical information to technical and non-technical users.
  • Ability to develop and implements policies, procedures, goals, and objectives.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
  • Ability to plan, implement, and direct photography, graphics, and audio/visual associated operations.
  • Ability to prioritize, organize and perform multiple work assignments simultaneously.
  • Knowledge of and ability to interpret and apply related federal, state, and local laws, ordinances, rules, and regulations.
  • Knowledge of and the ability to interpret and apply related university policies, procedures, principles, and practices.
  • Knowledge of applicable computer applications and basic computer functions.
  • Knowledge of current media technology and trends.
  • Knowledge of web design and development.
  • Knowledge of graphic layout techniques and art in a digital format.

Anticipated Salary Range

High $30,000's - mid $40,000's, commensurate with education and experience.
