Job Description:

Central College seeks applicants for a tenure-line position in mechanical engineering beginning in August 2024. Candidates will join a dynamic and collaborative team of faculty dedicated to student success in an ABET-accredited engineering program having strong ties to local industrial partners. Our new colleague will accompany us in our pursuit of excellence in undergraduate education focused on the intellectual and personal growth of students.

Requirements:

The successful candidate will teach a range of undergraduate engineering courses and laboratories. Faculty at Central College contribute to the advising and mentoring of students; program accreditation, improvement, assessment, and development; and engage in professional development and service that contribute to the institution and profession. Our faculty have access to both internal and external grants for funding.

Preference will be given to applicants dedicated to undergraduate teaching and learning or who have expertise in engineering mechanics, machine design, or control systems. The tenure-line position requires a PhD in mechanical engineering or a related area (ABD considered); those holding a master's degree are encouraged to apply for a full-time non-tenure-line position. Rank and compensation depend on experience.
