SUMMARY

The Materials Specialist is responsible for storage in one department and will lead and coordinate work within the department.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Deliver or route materials to assembly lines to ensure have sufficient available material to accomplish their work objectives and schedules.
• Examine contents and compare with records, such as manifests, invoices, or orders, to verify accuracy of incoming or outgoing shipment.
• Prepare documents, such as work orders, bills of lading, or shipping orders, to route materials.
• Requisition and store shipping materials and supplies to maintain inventory of stock.
• Confer or correspond with establishment representatives to rectify problems, such as damages, shortages, or nonconformance to specifications.
• Coordinate with employees and supervisor within department. Work engineers and shipping for material-related issues.
