St. Norbert College, a nationally-ranked, private, Catholic, liberal arts college is seeking a Marketing Strategist and Account Manager. This position works closely with the Director of Communications and Marketing and Creative Director to develop, implement and manage multi-channel communications and marketing initiatives designed to build the college brand and engage prospective students, alumni, donors and the community. This role is critical to raising SNC's visibility, attracting students, deepening alumni engagement, inspiring investment and building community partnerships. This position also oversees market research, marketing consultation, account management, process development and measurement of marketing effectiveness. The Marketing Strategist and Account Manager is responsible for producing marketing plans to align internal and external resources to achieve objectives. This position ensures positive relationships with campus partners.

Specific responsibilities:

Marketing Direction -
Lead the development, implementation, and performance measurement of marketing and communications plans with an emphasis on alumni engagement, donor cultivation and stewardship, undergraduate and graduate enrollment and developing relationships with the business community. Work collaboratively with campus partners to develop campaign benchmarks and goals and work collaboratively with others in the Office of Communications to determine distribution and creative approaches. Ensure coordination of timing, messaging and audience, across multiple media while adhering to St. Norbert College's brand standards. - 30%

Account Management -
Serve as an integral team liaison, strategic partner and communications and marketing advisor to the Office of College Advancement, Office of Admission and the Schneider School of Business & Economics, specifically. Communicate and document project status, strategic recommendations and campaign performance to clients and team members on a regular basis. Work closely with the Marketing Account Coordinator to assist all other clients with their external communications and marketing needs. - 30%

Process Management -
Oversee the prioritization and allocation of department and contractor resources, assigning work, monitoring progress and measuring results to ensure the best allocation of college resources and alignment with strategic priorities. Maintain a dynamic project management system (scheduling, tracking and archival) to manage projects from conception to delivery. Provide direction to the Marketing Account Coordinator to ensure projects are produced on time. - 15%

Data Analysis -
Identify key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics that support assessment and progress toward client goals and objectives. Regularly assess and report on the effectiveness of communication methods using a variety of metrics and data sources. Identify and recommend opportunities for improvement. - 10%

Market Research -
Assist Director of Communications and Marketing and internal clients with determining marketing strategies through the gathering and interpretation of market research and trends. Stay up-to-date on best practices and emerging trends in higher education marketing and communications, specifically related to recruiting and alumni/donor development. Initiate assessment of and recommend changes to marketing and communications strategies based on survey feedback, peer institution benchmarking and adoption of emerging or pilot communication platforms. - 10%

Vendor Management -
Liaise with outside contractors and service providers to negotiate and secure contracts and schedules. Maintain positive relationships with outside partners in line with St. Norbert College's ideal of communio. - 5%

Perform additional duties as assigned and attend college required training. Regular attendance is required. Work in a manner that is aware of personal safety and the safety of others and observes safety, health and sanitation codes, regulations, or practices required by the College or governmental authority.

  • Marketing Account Coordinator

  • Vendors and contract employees

Required Minimum Qualifications:

Education -

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, business administration, advertising, communications, or public relations. If a graduate from another discipline, experience in marketing or agency client/project management.

Experience and Credentials -

  • 5-7 years of marketing, communications, advertising or public relations experience.

  • 5 years of project management experience serving multiple clients.

  • Demonstrated experience working in and fostering a diverse campus environment or commitment to do so as an employee of St. Norbert College.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities -

  • Ability to define, plan, manage, execute and measure a marketing campaign from start-to-finish to demonstrate return on investment (ROI) to the client.

  • Knowledge of web-based project management and tracking systems.

  • Knowledge of industry trends, market research and measurement techniques.

  • Knowledge of design production software and communications processes. Broadbased understanding of communication mediums including print, email and digital marketing.

  • Knowledge of buying mass media and advertising.

  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment.

  • Detail oriented.

  • Diplomatic, particularly in conflict situations.

  • Ability to multitask, meet specific deadlines, and prioritize tasks and assignments.

  • Skilled in basic math computations such as addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.

  • Knowledge of computer programs (Microsoft Office, Google Apps) and ability to learn upgrades and new programs as needed.

  • Ability to exercise good judgment and decisions in an expeditious manner.

  • Skilled at setting a good example for others and creating a positive atmosphere.

  • Skilled at organizing events, programs, projects and seeing them through to completion.

The college may consider any equivalent amount of credentials, licensures, training, or experience that provides the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the duties and responsibilities of this job.

Working Conditions:

Regular work hours are Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 4:30 pm with a few interruptions throughout the day. Weekends or evenings are generally not required and position is not expected to travel.

  • Generally a sedentary position working on campus in a professional office environment. Lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling no more than 10 lbs. Will need to move within office and building with occasional meetings in other buildings on campus.
