We are currently searching for a creative Marketing Content Strategist / Writer to write, research and edit written content for all of our print and digital platforms. Example of desired content include but are not limited to online articles, newsletters, literature advertisements, case studies, eBooks, testimonials, social media, blogs and more. The Content Strategist / Writer will work within the marketing team and across other business functions to develop compelling written content for a variety of audiences – dealers, architects, and end users.

To be successful in this role, you must have exceptional writing, proofreading, and research skills, as well as the ability to adapt writing style and tone to varied audiences. We’re looking for a creative self-starter who can take complex topics, understand them fully, and explain them so others want to listen. Can you entice someone to download an eBook on doors? Responsibilities/Principal Duties:

  • Support product promotion efforts through written content for print and digital materials.
  • Uses available analytics to adjust content to ensure conversion; diversify content so it can be reformatted across platforms and audiences.
  • Support department efforts to promote the Clopay, Cornell and Cookson brands and product lines to dealers, end users, and the architectural industry
  • Develop deep product and industry knowledge.


Qualified candidates must possess the following minimum qualifications:

  • A high energy individual with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet project deadlines.
  • Familiar with keyword placement and SEO.
  • Excellent grammar, writing, proofreading, and editing skills. Knowledge of AP style a bonus.
  • Ability to generate written content that inspires action, teaches, and entertains.
  • Ability to translate complex/technical product features to capture multiple target audiences – installers, commercial door dealers, and architects.
  • Experience with social media and email marketing.
  • Impeccable attention to detail.
  • Ability to understand technical writing, but the creativity to translate that into content that general audiences can understand and enjoy reading.
  • Self-motivator with strong organizational and intra-personal skills, and a great collaborator.
  • Able to analyze complex problems, develop creative solutions and make sound, independent decisions and plans.

Experience

  • 4 year degree in English, Journalism, Communications or related field
  • 3 - 5 years of professional writing experience
  • Portfolio of published work
  • Experience with web analytics preferred
  • Skilled in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
  • Familiarity with Adobe or similar design software and Photoshop a plus
