The Manufacturing Technician II (Equipment Tech) is responsible for the Manufacturing Maintenance Engineering Department to troubleshoot, repair and sustain custom automation equipment.

This position is part of the Manufacturing & Operations Multifunction and will be located in Sunnyvale, CA. At Cepheid, our vision is to be the leading provider of seamlessly connected diagnostic solutions.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

• Work closely with Production and Engineering groups to monitor equipment status and performance
• Document all repairs and the appropriate adjustments made in Computer Maintenance Management System (CMMS)
• Ability to train equipment technicians and operators

The essential requirements of the job include:

• Have solid understanding of interpreting manuals and schematics and have strong knowledge in mechanical alignment and the troubleshooting of automated mechanical, electrical and pneumatic equipment.
• Previous work experience in a Manufacturing environment; ability to repair equipment timely under pressure situations
• Familiarity with electrical/electronic components, Automation, Robotics, Sensors, Fiber Optics and motors

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

• AA or Technical Trade Degree or 4 years of related work experience
