Position Purpose:
Develop and implement engineering solutions to the shop floor processes. Develop operator detail instructions for processes. Assist operations group with continuous improvement objectives on a regular basis. Active communication with hourly group assisting with needs and process improvements. Ability to utilize a structure problem solving approach when working to resolve issues.

Essential Functions:

• Support manufacturing to protect the customer - General
• Member of product launch teams for manufacturing engineering support - General
• Optimize machining programs to allow flexibility - CNC
• Optimize tool and insert selection to increase productivity - CNC
• Decrease setup and changeover times. - General
• Develop and maintain operator work instructions for all products. - General
• Define future technology requirements - General
• Assist in defining long-range capital planning - General
• Selection, justification and implementation of CNC equipment - CNC
• Design and development and implementation of CNC fixtures - CNC
• Improve effectiveness of product and process change method
• Refinement of machining process through tooling and methods optimization - CNC
• Optimization of labor by implementing concurrent work - General
• Assist product launch teams with Industrial Engineering support - General
• Improve manufacturing capabilities and capacities - General
• Validate routers for specified work centers - Kit
• Analyze existing procedures & processes for improvements - General
• Develop and maintain operator work instructions for Kitting/Distribution operations and assigned Assembly Cells. - Kit

Education and Training

• Associate's degree required , Bachelor's preferred
• 5+ years' experience required
• CNC machining knowledge required

• Knowledge of horizontal machining centers
• Knowledge of macro programming required
• Knowledge of tooling selection and optimization
• Hydraulic fixture design skills required
• Background in team approach to problem solving expected
• Ability to manage, prioritize and complete multiple tasks on a time bound schedule required
• Knowledge of TS16949 and IATF 16949 preferred
• Experience with lean manufacturing environments
• AutoCad, Solid Edge, MSOffice, Mastercam, Mpact, or similar software/programming experience needed
• Automotive background a plus
• Capital equipment procurement background a plus
• Preventative Maintenance and TPM a plus
• Assembly experience is an advantage

• Working knowledge of labor and machining standards preferred
• Development of manual assembly poke-yokes is an advantage

Minimum Qualifications
• Associate's degree required, Bachelor's preferred
• CNC machining knowledge required
