Chicago - Corporate HQ at the Old Post Office is the primary location. Travel is < 25%, mostly local visits to Chicagoland area facilities.

The Supply Chain Optimization Manager will be responsible for facilitating the scoping, prioritization, and execution of transformative, operations-driven value creation projects. The position is also accountable for supporting the compilation of project-level and program-level value estimations to measure the impact of current and future projects. This position will also serve as the primary point of contact to provide status updates to cross-functional and executive leadership on project value realization.

Ways you will make a difference

  • Manage operations project portfolio to ensure projects are delivered on time and in full
  • Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to identify cost savings and throughput improvement opportunities to increase gross margin
  • Lead the development of business cases to estimate qualitative and quantitative project value
  • Manage pipeline of project opportunities and determine implementation priority based on in-flight projects and other organizational priorities, communicating recommendations to impacted stakeholders
  • Collaborate with Finance and Engineering to obtain capital approval where needed
  • Provide tactical project management support by creating project plans, influencing stakeholders to buy-in to project delivery, and leading meetings to review project status and action items
  • Continuously monitor project-specific timelines and value estimations to ensure program-level status reporting for all projects is accurate
  • Partner with Finance to estimate P&L impact of the entire project portfolio based on status reporting for in-flight projects and actuals reporting for completed projects
  • Present and collaborate frequently with cross-functional and executive leadership on value realization for completed projects, status of active projects, and scoping for future projects
  • Drive the standardization and improvement of project management processes across operations, research & development, and commercial teams
  • Balance meeting business objectives and ensuring accountability while promoting collaborative and friendly environment, effectively anticipating and either avoiding or effectively managing potential conflicts

Experiences that will support your success

  • Bachelor's degree in one of the following: Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Finance, Food Science, Engineering
  • 4+ years of project management experience, ideally within consulting or a large consumer products manufacturing company
  • Knowledge of Technical Functions (such as planning, procurement, manufacturing, research and development) and demonstrated ability to partner with cross-functional stakeholders to identify and implement improvement opportunities
  • Financial analysis and / or cost accounting experience within a manufacturing business
  • Demonstrated track record of managing complex cross-functional projects
  • Experience managing a program / portfolio consisting of multiple projects and communicating project status and risks to executive leadership
  • Strong experience in standard office tools such as PowerPoint and Excel
  • Strong command of project management tools and techniques and their practical application
  • Familiarity with ad-hoc reporting from SAP and Business Intelligence systems preferred
  • PMP or Six Sigma certification a plus
  • Familiarity with corporate governance and organizational behavior models
