The Maintenance Supervisor has direct responsibility for providing timely, complete, and cost-effective electrical / mechanical technician service for the entire Primary Operations department. This responsibility will be directed to assure effective use of resources to maintain reliable operation of production and production support equipment and to provide technical expertise associated with modification of existing equipment and selection of new equipment.

You will have the opportunity to:

  • Ensure that all maintenance equipment is maintained in safe operating condition and that all Maintenance activities are conducted in compliance with established safety and environmental practices and procedures.
  • Develop formal safety procedures for the performance of specific maintenance activities utilizing formats in accordance with Materion EHSMS and BMP programs and practices.
  • Work with the Operations Manager to establish realistic plans and goals for the Maintenance operation.
  • Direct maintenance activities to obtain maximum utilization of personnel and equipment.
  • Provide training of department personnel in proper methods, procedures, and safety practices to assure the effectiveness of performance of their work assignments.
  • Provide timely and cost-effective service to production and other operations keeping supervisory personnel apprised of the status of work requested.
REQUIREMENTS:
  • GED / High school diploma required
  • Previous supervisory / leadership experience preferred
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in the Maintenance field in heavy industry is desired.
  • The ability to work independently and in teams is also essential.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills are a must.
The selection of the person to be hired for this position is contingent on the candidate having export compliance eligibility for access to U.S. controlled technology which comes under the licensing jurisdiction of the U.S. Department of State, International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), and the U.S. Department of Commerce, Export Administration Regulations (EAR).

The candidate selected will have to qualify as either a U.S. citizen, a U.S. National, a lawful permanent resident of the U.S., a Person Admitted into the U.S. as an Asylee or Refugee., a National of a country that is not prohibited from having access to U.S. controlled technology (via a letter of assurance), or a Person to be approved for an export license by the governing agency whose technology comes under its jurisdiction.
