Job Details:

This position is responsible for the maintenance and operation of a complete Tyson Boiler/Steam system while adhering to Tyson policies and procedures.

Tasks

Requires basic mechanical or maintenance skills & ability to use basic hand tools. Must be able to obtain current, valid state Boiler license or equivalent Tyson training & obtain Tyson and/or state license. Prefer 1-3 years knowledge of boiler and steam systems. Requires minimum 1 year knowledge of stick welding, basic industrial electronics, plumbing & piping. Must be able to read & understand assignments, communicate orally & in writing, hear & respond to two-way radio, lift 50 pounds, climb stairs & ladders up to 60 feet. Must be able to stand for long periods of time, withstand extreme hot, cold, inclement weather & odors, perform all duties necessary to maintain & operate complete Tyson boiler/steam system, perform all maintenance & preventative maintenance to boilers & steam system within legal limits, perform all chemical tests to evaluate needs of feed water system & dispose of chemicals properly, perform general welding needed for installing braces & other necessary items to maintain the welfare of the plant & boiler room, trouble shoot & repair basic electrical systems & components, repair valve & steam lines, read gauges & record data on logs. May perform other duties as assigned by supervisor. Be willing to further education through outside training, company maintenance testing program & vendor training. This position is slated for candidates currently working in this facility. Priority consideration will be provided to these candidates. If local candidate is not selected, candidates from other locations will then be reviewed for consideration.
