The University Library is seeking to hire a Library Technical Assistant on a full-time basis at the Clarkston Campus. The scope of the responsibilities will include these essential duties but is not limited to the following:

  • Complete basic circulation functions, such as checking in/out library materials and study room reservations
  • Answer patron questions in person or by phone regarding library services, resources and general campus queries
  • Assist with basic university supported software applications.
  • Supervise student assistants (hire, train, evaluate and approve time)
  • Serve as primary contact for services related to course reserves and interlibrary loan
  • Generates and receives supplies for the department.
  • Promote/represent the library at campus and library events.
  • Participates in internal/external professional development opportunities

Please note the shift for this position:

Monday - Friday 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM

Shifts will vary during holidays, summer and intercession.

  • Prefer recent experience in a college or university library.
  • Familiarity with the use of computers in an office setting.
  • Knowledge of library circulation processes in an automated environment.
  • Strong organizational skills with an emphasis on accuracy and thoroughness.
  • Excellent problem solving and effective interpersonal skills.
