Adams & Martin Group has partnered with a leading Catastrophic Injury / Medical Malpractice law firm in Orange County who is seeking a senior level Litigation Secretary to join their team. This Litigation Secretary opportunity will allow for some hybrid/remote opportunities after the initial probation period of 90 days. This Litigation Secretary desk will support 1-2 senior level attorneys who participate in trials.

Job Description / Duties:

  • Provide administrative support to attorneys, including drafting correspondence, managing calendars, and scheduling appointments.
  • Assist in the preparation and filing of legal documents, such as complaints, motions, and discovery requests.
  • Conduct legal research and gather relevant case information using various databases and resources.
  • Organize and maintain case files, including electronic and paper records, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Communicate with clients, witnesses, and other involved parties to gather information and provide updates on case progress.
  • Assist attorneys in trial preparation, including preparing exhibits, coordinating witnesses, and organizing trial binders.
  • Collaborate with attorneys and other team members to develop case strategies and timelines.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support the efficient functioning of the legal team.
Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience working as a legal secretary or paralegal, with a focus on medical malpractice and personal injury cases preferred.
  • Proficiency in legal research, including knowledge of online databases and resources.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and prioritize workload effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact professionally with clients and colleagues.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in document preparation and file management.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software applications.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Paralegal certification or relevant degree preferred but not required.
