Job Summary:

Caterpillar is seeking a Lean Black Belt in our Lean Center of Excellence supporting key manufacturing facilities in North America. The Lean Black Belt will be responsible for leading, coaching, and mentoring teams in our manufacturing facilities to improve critical processes to achieve business objectives. They will also support and improve our Lean Assessment utilized in all facilities worldwide. As a member of the Lean Center of Excellence team, you will need to have a growth mindset, promote continuous improvement, and help build a defect-free culture. What you will do:

  • Leading and supporting sustainable process improvement by diagnosing complex business problems
  • Providing recommended action plans to deliver process improvements through the implementation of Lean principles
  • Managing and supporting projects related to process transformations using Lean, 6 Sigma and project management methodologies
  • Providing technical expertise to functional teams in the deployment of Lean to drive process transformation aligned with business improvement strategies.
  • Leading, coaching, teaching and developing others to use the tools and methodologies of Lean to drive sustained continuous improvement
  • Managing, improving and maintaining the Lean Assessment used for self-diagnosis of Lean health by Caterpillar facilities

Problem Solving : Knowledge of approaches, tools, techniques for recognizing, anticipating, and resolving organizational, operational or process problems; ability to apply knowledge of problem solving appropriately to diverse situations.
Level Extensive Experience:
• Organizes potential problem solvers and leads problem resolution efforts.
• Uses varying problem-solving approaches and techniques as appropriate.
• Coaches others to develop problem-solving skills using various tools and processes.
• Develops successful resolutions to critical or wide-impact problems.

Additional Information:

The primary location for this position is Seguin, TX, Mossville, IL, or Lafayette, IN

Domestic relocation assistance is available

This position may require 25 - 50% travel
