JOB SUMMARY

The Lead Operator loads, unloads, and moves materials within or near plant, yard, or worksite. Is knowledgeable in all facets of plant operations and is capable of taking over supervisory responsibilities in the absence of the plant manager or shift supervisor.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Comply with Boral Safety Policies and Procedures
• Unloads trucks, rail cars, or other deliver system to fill fly ash silos
• Monitors and records daily levels of fly ash in the silos
• Loads trucks, rail cars, or barges with fly ash directly from the silo
• Weighs trucks and rail cars and records the information in SMS or on a production sheet
• Pulls samples of fly ash from loads and silos for testing and performs required tests
• Attends and/or facilitates regular safety meeting and follows all safety guidelines as required
• Assists in the disposal operation where required
• Operates a water truck, dump truck, vacuum truck, or forklift on site when required
• Operates and monitors heavy equipment where necessary
• Performs maintenance on grounds and facilities as directed by supervisor
• Maintain safety and maintenance records
• Trains other operators
• Regular attendance, timeliness and scheduling flexibility
