OVERVIEW

MCP1 (Mid-Cycle Propulsion System) RESS Lead Engineer is responsible for the execution and evaluation of designs, analysis, development, testing and control of major engineering projects where creativity and initiative are involved as well as a high level of independent judgment. Consults with leadership as required.

  • Release RESS assemblies, carryover dress parts, and installation drawings.
  • Define and maintain master BOMs.
  • Provide build specification sheet and build instructions to the build group.
  • Support the BRT/KIR for timely delivery of pre-production builds.
  • Support Plan for Every Part Reviews (PFEP).
  • Support all Pre-production Build activity including build site issues.
  • Work with design room supervisors to monitor progress on design work, resolve conflicts, and assure drawing release timing.
  • Coordinate CRV and PPDRs.
  • Support production readiness activities.
  • Ensure all design aspects are addressed to meet key program milestones and timing.
  • Support program timing workshops, and timing studies, as required.
  • Assists in implementing engineering changes, and facilitates / supports the change management process.
  • Support Engineering Change Request review and approvals.
  • Resolve issues across Integration teams.
  • Attend / support PAPIR, ADV, PRTS+, BRT meetings as appropriate
  • Launch support in the plant, including material shortage and support spills/crisis.
  • Problem Resolution Tracking System/Issue Resolution prioritization and follow up.
  • Plant Tryout and Production Trial Run support.
  • Bill of Material tool maintenance - ensure accurate content and approval of changes.
  • Work with design room supervisors to monitor progress on design work, resolve conflicts, and assure drawing release timing.
  • Validation plan development property support.
  • Special projects.
  • Assists in regulation and compliance execution.
  • Support Cost reduction initiatives.
  • Support the Implementation of test/development plans.
  • Communicates, coordinates and consults with engineering departments and customers.
  • Stays abreast of new technology and competitive products.
  • Work cross functionally across BEV3 and BET teams to ensure MCP1 changes are aligned.
  • Act as back-up for the DSE as required.

    REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
    • Bachelor of Science Degree. Preferred majors include: Electrical, Mechanical or other Engineering discipline.
    • 5+ years of relevant work experience
    • Understanding of electrified vehicle system and integration
    • High level of project management skills and the ability to influence those that are not direct reports
    • Ability to create and present information to leadership, peers, customers and suppliers in a clear and concise manner
    • Must function well in engineering design team environment and have experience working with manufacturing engineering, and other engineering teams
    • Organized with strong attention to detail
    • Extensive understanding of the ECR process
    • Experience in Design Release, Bill of Materials development, and tracking status of part disposition
    • Knowledge of Excel and tracking spread sheet development
    • Ability to work efficiently and balance priorities under high workload
    • Ability to travel as required.

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
    • Master of Science in Electrical /Mechanical or other engineering discipline
    • Prior experience in launch phase
    • Experience working with global partners
