Job Summary:

As a Lead you will work in a dynamic Data & Insights organization supporting data. Working closely with your stakeholders, you will help to define, design, and deliver business critical data

The Lead Data Engineer is responsible for overseeing data engineering activities and aiding in building the business' data collection systems and processing pipelines. This includes ensuring that data services securely and seamlessly integrate with other data platform technologies or application services for example: Azure Cognitive Services, Microsoft Customer Insights, or Dynamics365.

The role of the Lead Data Engineer is responsible for building and maintaining optimized and highly available data pipelines across on-premises and in the cloud that facilitate deeper analysis and reporting by the Data and Analytics teams.

The Lead Data Engineer builds data processing frameworks that handle the business's growing database. Senior Data Engineer works with senior data science leadership as well as other Data and Analytics teams in leveraging data with reporting and scientific tools, for example, Tableau and PowerBI. The Senior Data Engineer strives to continuously develop new and improved data engineering capabilities

Perform as the Data Engineering expert by collaborating across the enterprise and within Data and Insights, developing relationships with stake holders and data teams to gain an understanding of the current and future data environment.

Lead the adoption of new tools and processes as they are rolled out. Support long term modern data enterprise strategy by establishing best practices for the team to follow. Manage process for code review. Recommend ways to improve data reliability, efficiency, and quality.

Coach and develop other Data Engineers.

Required Minimum Education:
  • Bachelor's Degree Computer Science or related field. Required
    • An additional 4+ years of professional work experience is acceptable in lieu of formal degree. Required

Required Minimum Experience:
  • Minimum 6 years Database systems (SQL and NoSQL), Data warehousing solutions, ELT and ETL tools Required
  • Proficiency with at least one modern programming language (e.g. Python, Java, Scala, or C#) Required
  • Understanding of distributed systems Required
  • Understanding of algorithms and data structures. Working knowledge of software development practices and processes Required
  • Working knowledge of one or more Cloud platforms (Azure preferred) Required
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skill Required

Required Minimum Skills:
  • Experience with Machine learning
  • Experience with Data APIs
  • Proficiency in software engineering
  • Experience in clinical data and CRM systems
  • Experience with Data Warehouse and Data Lake concepts
  • Experience with cloud computing
  • Experience building real-time and batch data pipelines
  • Proficiency with multiple programming languages (e.g. SQL, .NET, Python, JavaScript)
  • Ability to identify complex problems, involve key parties, gather pertinent data, and consider various options in the decision-making process. Skilled at applying problem solving skills in a logical, systematic way to resolve issues.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy and a sense of personal accountability.
  • Self-motivated and well organized with strong time management skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Ability to work independently or in a team environment and act as a mentor to less experienced team members as well as to work collaboratively across the organization: interpret user requirements, identify the root cause, research possible solutions, identify most feasible solutions.
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills and the ability to work well with all levels of the organization.
  • Personal desire for continuous knowledge and skill growth and development.
