We are currently seeking applications to fill the following job opening at Asahi Kasei Bioprocess where we sell Planova® virus removal filters and develops and manufactures related bioprocess equipment.

We are currently looking for a Laboratory Technician to join our team! The qualified individual will be responsible for supporting the day-to-day operations of the virus filtration laboratory, including preparing and maintaining reagents and equipment, ordering and organizing supplies, and supporting research and development activities as needed. The technician will also be responsible for performing manufacturing operations for products to be used by GMP manufacturing facilities. The technician is expected to understand and follow all SOPs and business practices to ensure that performance and documentation of all activities meet the highest standards of quality and safety. Organization and attention to detail is important along with a hardworking attitude and the ability to function within a team. Responsibilities:

• Support the activities of a virus filtration laboratory, including maintaining mammalian cell cultures and virus stocks, preparing reagents, ordering supplies, maintaining equipment, and cleaning and organizing lab spaces.

• Develop processes and procedures to ensure efficient usage of laboratory resources.

• As needed, assist in the execution and documentation of laboratory experiments and analytical assays under the supervision of scientists to develop and study bioprocess filtration and chromatography operations with a focus on viral clearance and pathogen safety.

• Assist field staff with shipments of equipment for studies as needed.

• Perform product manufacturing and shipping activities in strict accordance with internal SOPs and cGMP guidelines.

• Understand and follow all SOPs and business practices to ensure that performance and documentation of all activities meet the highest standards of quality and safety.

• Attend and contribute to regular group meetings and journal club meetings and provide monthly project update reports.

Requirements/Qualifications:

• BS/BA in Biochemistry, Microbiology, Chemical or Biochemical Engineering or similar scientific discipline.

• Ability to work in a Biosafety Level 2 laboratory is required.

• Excellent communication skills and the ability to present results and recommendations to internal management is required.

• Experience in a laboratory setting is strongly desired.

• Experience with viral clearance or virus filtration is a plus.

• Experience in a GMP or GLP setting is a plus.

Physical demands/Environmental Conditions:

• Ability to work in a Biosafety Level 2 environment.

• Exposure to hazardous chemicals and pressurized liquids
