Responsibilities

  • Create 3D models of mechanical components and assemblies from both 2D and 3D data. Utilizes Autodesk Inventor or other software for documentation and drawing of products as required.
  • Designs 3D sheet metal parts and welded structural steel frames along with 3D piping/conduit from 2D layout. Create part, assembly and assembly drawings from 3D files.
  • Research new materials to improve sustainability, cost
  • Create, maintain and review bill of materials (BOMS) with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Build prototype concepts using new designs and materials.
  • Provide engineering support to manufacturing during production and testing.
  • Works independently with minimal supervision from lead project engineer(s) and/or manager.
  • Participate in and lead group discussions and Web Meetings regarding projects.
  • Other duties as assigned

Desired Qualifications
  • Proficiency in working with Autodesk Inventor or equivalent CAD system
  • Self-starter. Ability to solve problems, take responsibility and deliver results with a spirit of innovation and strong commitment to excellence.
  • Proficiency in use of MS Office Software - such as PowerPoint, EXCEL and Word
  • Ability to read, interpret and produce technical drawings.
  • Strong communication, presentation and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrating ethics and integrity.
  • Understanding of sheet metal design, manufacturing practices and processes.
  • Exhibit forward-looking sense of design and mechanical aptitude with abstract thinking and reasoning skills.
  • Strong analysis, problem solving and decision-making skills.
  • Team-oriented attitude.
  • Must be action-oriented with an eye for finding opportunity and solving problems.
  • Detail oriented with high attention to detail and proven ability to complete tasks on schedule.
