Job Description: 
The Interagency Program Assistant provides support to Public Engagement and Intergovernmental Affairs' (PEIA) interagency work, legislative work as needed, and special projects that enhance the effectiveness of PEIA. 


Job Requirements:
* Performs administrative tasks including writing documents, conducting research, planning meetings and executing engagements with internal and external stakeholders.
* Prepares and supports developing policies, including drafting documents, conducting analyses and feasibility studies, as well as advising on strategy options.
* Supports the development of regulations and legislative proposals pursuant to specific policy direction.
* Provides support to the development of community relations campaigns and agency training courses when needed.
* Prepares briefing checklists for principals, letters, reports, agendas, talking points, meeting minutes, and responses to congressional and interagency inquiries.
* Supports legislative staff and colleagues from the Department, J/TIP, and the interagency in evaluating and responding to taskers.
* Assists in preparing J/TIP leadership for White House and interagency meetings, along with congressional hearings and briefings, including preparation of briefing materials/books. Advises and supports the relevant clearances for the PEIA team within the office and when required, internal and external stakeholders.
* Assists with Department databases that involve maintaining and gathering new contacts to ensure quality control.
* Sends periodic messages and announcements for the Ambassador and/or TIP Office through e-blasts to interagency and external contacts. Completes research requests on interagency, congressional, or other matters.

NECESSARY SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE
* Able to communicate complex issues in a timely and concise manner, both orally and in written form.
* Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and analytical skills.
* Ability to liaise with Department colleagues or relevant external stakeholders.
* Demonstrates ability to oversee various databases and successfully manage multiple projects at the same time with variable, sometimes changing deadlines.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe. Demonstrated ability to perform administrative tasks from start to finish

SECURITY CLEARANCE
The position requires a Secret security clearance. However, the Contractor can begin work with an interim Secret security clearance.
