Overview of position: Summary of position's responsibilities:

The Intake Specialist is responsible for processing new student applications and registrations. This includes completing customer/student scheduling, administering departmental surveys, entering test results and other data for Workforce Development and Continuing Education programs.

Responsibilities/Duties
  • Responsible for the assessment, intake and referral of students enrolling in Workforce Development courses.
  • Schedule placement tests to incoming students
  • Advise students of score and assign them to the appropriate class(s)
  • Handle student placements regarding program options
  • Strong customer service skill;
  • Knowledge of acceptable examination and testing policies and procedures;
  • Ability to use proper English grammar and spelling;
  • Knowledge of standard office procedures; basic math; record keeping and standard software applications;
  • Ability to operate standard office equipment; set-up and maintain database files, store/retrieve data, and create, edit and print documents and reports;
  • Ability to maintain security and confidentiality of testing processes; effectively communicate both orally and in writing with diverse groups; prepare reports and surveys;
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical computations to calculate scoring results and percentages;
  • Ability to coordinate a variety of projects simultaneously; organize and prioritize work;
  • Ability to follow detailed directions and procedures;
  • Must have proficient computer skills, including MS Office.
Required Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Associate Degree
  • At least 2 years work experience providing excellent customer service and/or data entry
Preferred Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in any related field
  • At least 1 year of experience working in Higher Education.
  • At least 3 years of experience in providing customer service.
