Cancer Center Director

About the Director: The inaugural Director will affirm the value and uniqueness of the HFH-MSU Cancer Center and build on the combined strengths of its two world-class constituent institutions. The Director will actively engage researchers, clinicians, faculty, staff, trainees, community partners, and other key stakeholders to creatively and collaboratively leverage the Center's potential. The Director will also help elevate the Center's reputational achievement in research, education, and clinical service, while continuing to emphasize diversity, health equity, and inclusion. The Director will be a well-respected clinician and/or scientist with significant leadership and managerial experience, preferably within an NCI-designated cancer center or its matrixed cancer program, encompassing recruiting, management, and financial responsibilities. The Director will have national recognition in oncology, as evidenced by NCI/NIH and other relevant funding sources, as well as involvement in academic societies at national and international levels. The Director will also have a track-record of progressive administrative leadership experience, preferably in a research-intensive institute or academic setting.

Minimum RequirementsThe Director must have an earned and relevant doctoral terminal degree, including an MD or DO and/or a PhD. The Director must also possess a sustained record of peer reviewed publications and funding (preferably NCI) that is commensurate with appointment as a Full Professor at Michigan State University.
