About the Position We are seeking an Industrial Hygienist to join our growing Environmental team in Atlanta, GA. Alternative locations include Jacksonville, FL; Huntsville, AL; Mobile, AL; Columbia, SC; New Orleans, LA; and Houston, TX; with hybrid and remote work possibilities available. The ideal candidate possesses 5+ years of related experience as an Industrial Hygienist. In this role, you will be inspecting, assessing, auditing, and implementing containment, remediation and mitigation strategies for potential hazards at industrial, energy, governmental facilities in order to assist clients with risk assessment and regulatory requirements. The ideal candidates possess a broad understanding of IH processes, tools and practices with relevant experience performing such measures at client sites. Specific experience with sterilization and ethylene oxide is preferred. Designation as a Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) is preferred. The successful candidate would support a range of multidisciplinary projects spanning industrial, government, and energy sectors and collaborate with our team of scientists, engineers, designers, and architects. The successful candidate would interface with clients and support proposal development and have opportunity to grow the Industrial Hygiene service line.

About Our Team

Our team of Environmental professionals includes scientists, engineers, designers, and planners. Our Environmental team is engaged in projects throughout the southeast, the nation, and the world and our existing client base includes industrial, transportation, oil and gas, renewables, government (local, state, and federal), Department of Defense, private development, and water resources and restoration. The successful candidate would be an integral part of our growing team and would have the opportunity to engage across markets and geographies.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Conducting site inspections to identify hazardous materials such as asbestos, lead-based paint, polychlorinated biphenyl (PCBs), mold, etc.
  • Performing indoor air quality studies (IAQ) to assist clients in identifying and correcting potential air quality concerns within their buildings
  • Supporting clients to evaluate and control employee exposures to hazardous chemicals, physical or biological agents at client sites
  • Performing inspection and audits at client facilities to identify potential OSHA compliance issues and developing reports to assist clients with appropriate remediation action
  • Partnering with Corporate Safety to provide support for client environmental and industrial hygiene training programs and activities
  • Preparation of proposals and statements of qualification
Knowledge and Experience:
  • Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) credential is preferred
  • Specific experience with sterilization and ethylene oxide or related indoor air quality is strongly preferred
  • Experience writing, reviewing and assessing EHS reports and making corrective action recommendations
  • Experience and thorough knowledge in corrective action process including apparent and root cause analyses
  • Previous experience in an EHS consulting organization and selling of EHS services preferred
  • Experience attracting and retaining clients, preparing proposals and fee estimates
Qualifications:
  • BS in Industrial Hygiene, Occupational Safety, Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science or related discipline
  • 5+ years of experience in conducting Industrial Hygiene and/or Environmental/Site Safety Inspections, Audits, and Investigations
  • IH experience with PEL Toxins is a plus
  • Relevant Licensure/Certifications for asbestos and lead-based paint inspections
  • OSHA 30 or 40 Hour trained
  • Ability to wear a respirator and protective clothing, climb a ladder, and lift/carry up to 40 pounds, occasionally
  • Ability to collaboratively partner with integrated project delivery teams to solve complex environmental and health challenges
  • Ability to work well within a team environment, positive attitude, multi-task, and self-motivated to produce high quality work.
  • Ability and desire to learn and grow professionally
