Main Responsibilities

The Clinical Immuno-Oncology group of the Early Oncology Discovery ICC department in Gaithersburg Maryland is seeking a highly motivated, lab-based scientist with a background in cell biology, immunology, cancer and/or a related field to be a part of the new Team to develop Predictive Human Models. The responsibilities of this position are to develop and execute on human tissue-based assays using tumor samples from cancer patients, and to characterize biological mechanisms of action of novel biologics drugs and drug combinations under investigation in clinical trials for the treatment of cancer.

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree with 3+ years of experience or master's degree in Cell Biology, Immunology, Cancer Biology, and/or related field

Essential Requirements:
  • A range of in vitro skills in basic biochemical and immunological methods including multi-color flow cytometry (FACS), ELISA/multiplex assays
  • Experience performing basic molecular biology such as RNA/DNA isolation, qPCR
  • Cell biology experience in sterile cell culture techniques, isolation and culture of primary cells, and cell-based assays.
  • Experience in isolation and culture of patient-derived tissue samples
  • The candidate will be expected to make detailed observations, analyze data, and interpret results independently.
  • Team player who is well organized with excellent interpersonal skills in both oral and written communication
  • Ability to record protocols and experiments in a timely manner and maintain an excellent laboratory notebook

Desired Qualifications:
  • Biotechnology or pharmaceutical industry experience preferred
  • Knowledge of GraphPad Prism and FlowJo for data analysis
  • Experience in running Nanostring and spatial omics endpoints
