Hydraulics System Lead for 4WD Tractor Hydraulic System meets goals for new product development, current product quality and reliability and cost reduction goals. This individual will report into a Large tractor & Implement Hydraulics & Pneumatics group with team primarily based in Fargo


  • Leads a team of engineers to direct Electro Hydraulic system development of 4WD Tractor Hydraulic system & Routings
  • Provide technical guidance to engineers and prioritization of assigned projects
  • Interact with 4WD team and ensure hydraulic designs meet quality and performance requirements
  • Coordinate the use of simulation to guide the design efforts toward first time quality
  • Guides the team to support system DFMEA's and coordinate supplier component DFMEA's
  • Direct concept studies and provide trade-off analysis
  • Directs team to provide detail assembly designs to meet applicable safety standards
  • Direct the design team activities for vehicle integration and subsystem and system validation.
  • Ensure the proper production release of Hydraulic components and assemblies.
  • Ensure the design meets all manufacturability requirements
  • Interface with Purchasing and Suppliers during the sourcing and development process
  • Coordinate design changes and BOM management throughout the product release process
  • Work closely with lead engineers and cross functional team members (vehicle, modeling and simulation, software, and functional safety)
  • Communicate design progress to leadership and manage project risk
  • Prepare for and participate in formal and informal design/peer review activities
  • Coordinate design activities with other locations
  • Stay abreast of the upcoming Regulations and Technologies for Hydraulic system and integration
  • Creates Technology Roadmap for 4WD Tractors and encourage innovation and patent creation
  • Provide direction/mentorship to team members and conduct mid-year/annual performance reviews
  • Knowhow of CreO, Team Center and Hydraulic Simulation Software

The salary range for this position is $83,000 - $120,000 annually
(Actual salaries will vary and will be based on various factors, such as skill, experience and qualification for the role.)


Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Agricultural discipline
  • 8 years of experience in product development leadership
  • 5 years of experience developing hydraulic /electro-hydraulic systems in agriculture or off-highway equipment.
  • Ability to travel both domestically and internationally approximately 10%

Preferred Qualifications

  • Good understanding of hydraulic system & component design, including electro-hydraulic systems & controls for Agriculture and Off Highway Equipment
  • Good understanding of Fluid Conveyance standards and best practice
  • Product Development Experience and knowledge
  • Agriculture and Construction domain knowledge and experience
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Experience with 3D-CAD-software (CREO preferred), simulation software (Matlab/Simulink, AmeSim, Automation Studio), BoM systems and standard MS-office software
  • Background in prototype builds and component/Sub system and system validation
  • Independent thinking, able to work under minimal supervision
  • Project management skills and understanding with Strong Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and collaborated with Cross-functional teams & Suppliers
