Job Title: HVAC Mechanical Project Manager

JOB SUMMARY: MSI seeks a HVAC Mechanical Project Manager to be responsible for planning and overseeing projects to ensure they are completed in a timely fashion and within budget. Project Managers plan and designate project resources, prepare budgets, monitor progress, and keep stakeholders informed the entire way.

Essential Functions:

The essential functions include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Prepares and submits job schedule to Vice President for approval.
  • Prepares job estimates.
  • Exercises executive authority over the planning, direction, and control of a designated project.
  • Allocates and supervises the utilization of material and personnel resources assigned to the project.
  • Applies to the project intensified management techniques, procedures, and controls to endure compliance with contract and budget.
  • Makes technical, personnel and business management decisions required by the project as authorized by his charter.
  • Conducts close liaison and coordination with vendors, the General Contractor, and other sub-contractors.
  • Reports status of his project to company leadership on a recurring basis.
  • Maintain safe work environment on all projects.
  • Promote and participate in education and training opportunities that allow the company and its employees to meet stated goals, objectives, and business plans.
  • Participate in quality association with trade/business associations that enhance the company's mission or business plan.
  • Provide junior associates with a "role model" example of the company's business and work ethic as delineated in MSI's Mission Statement
  • Maintain Customer Sales log.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Graduate of two-year technical curriculum preferred.
  • A minimum of 5 years experience in field operations.
  • A minimum of 2 years experience in estimating and bid preparation.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • In-depth knowledge of HVAC&R systems and related supporting utilities.
  • Knowledge of local and industry codes that regulate the HVAC&R industry.
  • Ability to effectively manage and motivate employees.
  • Good Verbal and written communications skills.
  • Effective negotiator.
  • Initiates monthly billing for jobs in process.
  • Initiates schedule of values for job in conjunction with estimator.
  • Conducts bi-monthly safety meeting on jobs.
