Holidays: 12 paid holidays and up to 3 additional floating holidays based on hire date

Summary of Job Content:
The Human Resources Generalist has the main responsibility for recruitment, onboarding and team member relations. This position is also responsible for assisting the Human Resources Manager in ensuring all Human Resource functions for the facility are managed in a professional manner, conducive with SGL policies, procedures and culture. In addition, this position is responsible to ensure SGL is in compliance with all HR related state and Federal requirements. This position is generally responsible for the day-to-day HR activities.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Responsible for recruitment efforts both internally and externally of hourly and exempt positions including posting positions, maintaining applicant data in the ATS in accordance with company guidelines, scheduling interviews, interviewing candidates and advising leadership of selection of candidates.
  • Complete and manage the onboarding process for new hires including but not limited to offer process, drug screen, background check and scheduling of new hire orientation.
  • Conduct new hire orientation and ensure appropriate paperwork is completed accurately according to company regulations.
  • Coordinate and conduct random drug testing program according to policy.
  • Responsible for completing team member status changes as they relate to pay changes, organizational changes and terminations.
  • Assist with team member exit interviews and offboarding.
  • Assist team members with benefits enrollment, questions and serve as liaison between HR Service Center and team members to resolve benefits issues.
  • Work closely with HR Manager and TPA to administrate workers compensation program, light duty arrangements and return to work.
  • Assist team members with leaves of absences and ensure compliance with state and federal laws and regulations such as FMLA, ADA & Washington State Paid Family & Medical Leave.
  • Responsible for maintaining the HRIS system accurately (Success Factors) as well as being the site key user. Support implementation projects, work with corporate office to fix errors and ensure Team Members receive training on the employee self-service platform.
  • Ensure electronic and paper personnel files are maintained according to policy and procedures.
  • Support any other HR related requests, systems, processes and procedures; support department managers as it relates to human resources.
  • Required to work on site and be punctual to support production and operations shift change to support team member inquiries/personnel relations.
  • Responsible for ensuring HR material is updated, communicated and distributed. Including, postings of legally required publications and internal notices to team members.
  • Supports any other HR duties as assigned.

Required Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, business or other related field or significant related experience.
  • Good understanding of all State and Federal Human Resource regulations and requirements.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Ability to be proactive and think critically independently.
  • Proven ability to interact professionally between departments and at all levels of the organization.
  • Skilled in handling confidential business matters and information with discretion.
  • Impeccable ethics, integrity and standards.
  • Strong Computer Skills; including Excel, Word and PPT presentations.

Preferred Experiences:
  • 2 years experience in a HR generalist role or in a similar position in a manufacturing environment.
  • SAP/Success Factors system experience.
  • HR Database experience.

Scope:
  • Staffing, compensation, benefits, knowledge of HR policies and laws, payroll coordination, training and development.
