Summary/Objective

The human resource representative is responsible for leading human resource generalist functions. This includes the ability to lead employee/labor relations, recruitment, onboarding, performance planning, succession planning and employee development in the respective area of responsibility.

• Work with all levels of management to develop work environments, effect culture change, and produce working conditions which maximize effective use of human potential and result in maximum productivity, profitability and job satisfaction.
• Provide consulting and counseling services to Management regarding all functional areas of Human Resources
• Will act as resource for employee questions regarding employee relations issues.
• Will provide consultation and activity necessary to attract and retain the knowledge and skills required for operations to perform successfully.
• Assist Managers in the development, implementation and use of performance standards and evaluation/appraisal systems.
• Provide administrative services as necessary to ensure all above duties and functions are performed successfully.
• Delivers training related to Human Resources programs and employee and/or labor relations issues.

Supervisory Responsibility

This position has no direct reports.

Work Environment

This job operates 40% of the time in mining locations to include quarries, mines and remote offices. 60% of the time will be in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

The employee must occasionally lift or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. This position regularly requires long hours and weekend work.

Travel

Travel will be 25% within the assigned area of the Division. Out-of-area and overnight travel will be expected.

Required Education and Experience

• A bachelor's degree and two years' human resource experience, or six years of related experience in the HR field.

Preferred Education and Experience

• A bachelor's degree in human resource management.
