Helpful

What is a typical day in this position? No two days are the same. One day you may be assisting a newly hired employee with their benefits. The next you may be assisting a faculty member with retiring from the university or assisting with payroll processing. Customer service is a large focus in this position, complimented by attention to detail and a can-do attitude.

What can I expect in the first 60-90 days? Your first few weeks will be getting up to speed on all things FSU HR Benefits - our policies, procedures, and what is expected of you. You'll also spend time shadowing other HR Specialists, so you have a good understanding how to manage and process cases. There's on the job training, which is fast paced but thorough and detailed. Previous experience in employee retirement benefits is helpful, and we'll spend time transferring those previous skills to this role.
