The HR Manager will provide the strategic direction, leadership, management, and coordination of all aspects of Human Resources, training, and EHS functions for the Manufacturing Facility. Provide counsel to Senior Plant Staff and operate as a Center of Excellence for all employees on all Human Resources, Safety and Environmental matters and supporting HR Functions. Provide a comprehensive strategic safety program for the manufacturing site in coordination with the Americas Division. Ensure compliance with internal and external legislative and policy requirements. The HR Manager's ability to provide HR expertise through the application of professional influencing skills is imperative to individual and team success. Other duties of the position will include conducting needs assessments, training, the facilitation of small and large groups in meetings and workshops, appropriately partnering with the HR Business Partners in the resolution of employee complaints, grievances , and arbitrations as well as involvement in all areas related to legal compliance (civil rights/EEOC, minor employment laws). In addition, this position will have responsibility for HR process excellence through a balanced focus on applied HR analytics and continuous improvement.

The successful HR Manager will have the following Key Accountabilities:

  • Strategic HR Leadership- Operate as Business Partner to operational partners. Provide expertise in Employee Relations and in handling employee activities, concerns, and complaints to assure fair and equitable treatment of employees and to maintain compliance with all applicable Federal & State laws.
  • Talent Acquisition & Management - Working with the Talent Management function, coordinate an effective and efficient recruiting process by using "competency based" methods. Recruiting, attracting, selecting, training, developing, promoting and maintaining high potential employees. Apply legal/regulatory compliance in every facet of talent management. Support and assist in divisional strategies and projects as needed.
  • Environmental Health and Safety - Review, evaluates, and analyzes work environments and design programs and procedures to control, eliminate, and prevent injuries or accidents. Conduct inspections and enforce adherence to laws and regulations governing the health and safety of individuals. Conduct safety training and education programs, and demonstrate the use of safety equipment.
  • Maintain and Foster Effective Communications- Serve as a link between management and employees by handling questions, interpreting and administering contracts and helping resolve work-related problems. Identify main customers and audiences and determine the best way to communicate information to them. Coordinate strategies regarding litigation on WC, EEOC, OSHA, & FMLA.
  • Administer Compensation and Benefit Programs - by providing job analysis and position descriptions recommendations to Corporate Comp & Benefits.
  • Training & Development - Prepare training budget for the site. Evaluate instructor performance and the effectiveness of training programs, providing recommendations for improvement. Analyze training needs to develop new training programs or modify and improve existing programs.
  • Conduct talent/organizational review meetings up to director level roles. Facilitate career path planning discussions with the management team. Implement Corporate/Divisional programs that further the development of team members, and those who serve in leadership roles, like mentoring programs and specialized training programs. Facilitate team building sessions to further teaming and build internal skills to resolve conflict.
  • Establish HR metrics to help business partners understand HR related topics that support and drive business results. Serve as HR Center of Excellence Collaborative Leader.
The successful HR Manager will have the following Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree required in HR or related field; Master's Degree preferred.
  • 7-10 years of HR management experience. Manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Specialized knowledge of Federal and State laws as they relate to OFCCP, EEOC, OSHA, EPA, Unemployment Insurance, COBRA, Workers Comp., etc.
  • Knowledge of sound HR Practices in areas of employment, compensation, benefit design, and administration
  • Strong Leadership experience and sound business acumen
