Job Description

This is a unique opportunity to be part of a growing multi-disciplined team of experienced individuals with a start-up mentality. Our team drives the solution design, development, and deployment of advanced High-Performance Compute (HPC) Engineering modeling and simulation solutions. This is in support of the company's Computer Aided Engineering (CAE) Application teams that perform end-to-end simulations from vehicle design through vehicle dynamics.

You will directly contribute to the CAE/HPC modeling and simulation lifecycle through integration across the HPC environment, leveraging Open-Source development in a Product focused delivery of Features. Application development is focused on 3D physics-based modeling and manipulation, imposing computational fluid dynamics, and facilitating the utilization of cluster-based and container-based modeling and simulation packages in HPC environments.

You'll have the opportunity to design and lead iterative development and learning cycles that ultimately produce new and creative CAE solutions. The scope of the HPC landscape will include:

• CAE applications running on the HPC environment
• Open source development and integration
• Simulation lifecycle
• Data management
• HPC job optimization
• Agent-based modeling
• Cross platform integration

Candidates must be collaborative team players who will work closely with other HPC professionals (Scientists, Developers, Engineers, Project Managers, and Analysts).

Additional Job Description

Required Qualification

• Bachelor's or master's degree (preferred) in Software Engineering, Mathematics, Computer Science, or related quantitative areas
• The HPC Application Software Developer should have 8+ years applied experience across a broad set of potential roles, including: Analyst, Software Developer, Engineer, Architect, Application and/or System Integration Architect
• Understanding of systems architecture, scientific gateways, and virtualization
• Programming experience in several of the following: Java, HTML, CSS, C/C++, Python, Qt, and Web Services
• Experience using configuration management tools like Cmake, Puppet, Chef, Ansible, and Salt
• Knowledge of database concepts and basic administration for Postgres, MongoDB, Microsoft SQL, and/or Oracle
• Familiarity with several of the following: Apache Framework and Modules, LSF, MPI, OpenMPI, OpenMP, OpenACC, Ganglia, Nagios, Kafka, ELK, Red Hat Enterprise Linux, and unix shell scripting
• Familiarity with open-source development platforms and practices, OpenFOAM specifically, is a very positive characteristic for a successful candidate
• Graphics development experience using VTK, OpenGL, or WebGL
• Understanding of data workflow, analytics software (R, Matlab) preferred
