A DAY IN THE LIFE

As a key member of the laboratory team, the Analyst safely operates and maintains GC-HRMS instruments, reviews and accurately prepares sample reports that are compliant with QC/QA requirements. The individual reports to the HRMS-Instrument group lead, Laboratory Technical Director and/or Laboratory Director. Under this supervision, communication will be exchanged to ensure that instruments are in optimal working condition, client data is being submitted to the highest quality and turned in on time.

Pay: $26 - 32 per hour

The HRMS Analyst duties include and are not limited to:
  • Analysis of Dioxin, PCB, PAH, Pesticides, PBDE, and other semi-volatile compounds using various EPA, client requested and internally developed methods.
  • Preparation of data summaries for inclusion in client reports.
  • Instrument calibration and maintenance.
  • Troubleshooting and problem-solving instrumentation and difficult sample matrices.
  • Accurate and timely communication to both project management and internal clients.
  • Sample and Standard Preparation as needed.
  • Maintain organized records of sample preparation and analysis, and equipment maintenance.
  • Help address client's questions or concerns.
  • Initiate and address non-conformance issues.
  • Comply with Enthalpy's Quality Assurance Program and other policies.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the HRMS-Instrument Group Lead
  • Occasional split shift and/or weekend duties as needed.
NECESSARY QUALIFICATIONS

To become successful in this job, individuals must have clear communication, have a can-do attitude, be flexible, and work well in team.   • Bachelor's degree in a scientific field.
  • Experience working in a lab.
  • Able to sit for long periods of time.
  • Look at a computer screen for lengthy periods of time and stay focused.
  • Attention to Detail.
Preferred Skills
  • Some experience with data analysis.
  • Complex Problem Solving - Identifying complex problems and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.
  • Time Management - Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining composure, maintain high productivity and quality under deadline requirements.
  • Basic office software knowledge (word, excel, powerpoint, etc).
  • Experience with Waters, and Agilent instrumentation and it's software (Masslynx/Targetlynx)
