Position Summary

We are seeking a Hardware Engineer to support new product development and sustaining activities for our industrial automation and network products. In this role you will have the opportunity to learn all aspects of hardware design from cradle to grave and work with cross-functional teams to ensure the development and sustenance of high quality industrial products.

Essential Job Functions

You will be working with a dedicated team of fellow engineers to design and sustain new and existing products.

  • Develops engineering requirements from user or market requirements and designs hardware to meet these.
  • Become proficient with the engineering change management system.
  • Perform component and system failure analysis.
  • Responsible for creating and maintaining bill of materials (BOMs), drawings, and other design documentation
  • Develops, tests, and documents systems to specification.
  • Works with other departments to transition products to manufacturing.
  • Participates in peer reviews of designs and documentation.
  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Requirements
  • BS degree, Computer or Electrical engineering
  • 5+ years of hardware design/sustaining experience is required.
  • Schematic and PCB layout design experience using Altium software.
  • Experience with hardware engineering test tools such as DSOs, DMM, JTAG debuggers, etc.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and perform failure mode analysis
  • Demonstrates effective oral and written communication skills to interface with all levels of company management and cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to take initiative and carry out project tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Attention to detail and accurate recordkeeping abilities are a must.
  • Must have proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Proficiency with English language both written and verbal communication.
  • Experience designing industrial embedded products with various interfaces such as Ethernet, USB, analog and digital I/O, and LCD touchscreen displays.
  • Experience with software engineering tools for design documentation, revision control, issue tracking, and project scheduling.
