SUMMARY

Working with general supervision and working with senior graphic designers in a team environment, the Print Graphic Designer creates excellent design layouts and proofs customary with print and brand production, and prepress processes. This position utilizes several graphic applications including InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator in a Macintosh environment. The Print Graphic Designer II position creates POP signage for GameStop stores, multi-page newspaper insert advertising, marketing collateral, and brand and event identities. Additionally, the position has a role in maintaining digital asset management for the company, preparing files for online projects and maintaining and organizing an archive of completed projects. This position works directly with client departments, taking an active role in design and specifications for printed elements and will interact with the supervisor as needed by either person.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

* Produce impactful, high-quality graphics that convey a compelling message through visual representation.

* Develop unique creative designs that adhere to brand guidelines and consistencies.

* Work with vendor-supplied assets and brands to produce dynamic signage and support consistent with partner product branding.

* Design GameStop store POP signage and displays.

* Design newspaper advertising and other consumer-focused contact opportunities, utilizing design/technical best practices to ensure cross-platform and cross-client compatibility.

* Design project specific themed presentations and presentation templates, launch kits, and promotional and marketing initiatives.

* Design monthly storefront windows for GameStop stores.

* Assist with additional design needs, including both print and web elements.

* Support the production of additional creative needs as requested by other departments; offer design recommendations to internal customers when appropriate.

* Collaborate with internal partners to understand objectives, provide accurate and timely updates and deliver creative alterations.

* Collaborate with functional and creative leaders to identify and leverage design synergy between projects sponsored by brand management, merchandising, and marketing.

* Integrate business requirements into all creative elements as directed.

* Cooperate and share expertise with other Creative Services team members.

* Maintain proficient knowledge of current technologies and design trends, staying abreast of new and burgeoning technologies and trends in the design community.

* Help oversee the production and completion of all creative projects on time and within budget constraints.

* Update Creative Services asset library, ensuring correct cataloging policies and procedures are maintained and timely updates are made.

BASIC AND PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE)

* At least 2-4 years of post-secondary education in fine arts, graphic design, or equivalent experience required; Bachelors degree in Fine Arts or Graphic Design preferred

* At least 3 years experience in graphic design; related experience in a multi-unit retail environment preferred

* Must be able to present a professional portfolio that includes examples of related work upon request

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS, JOB SKILLS, ABILITIES

* Proficient knowledge of organizational branding and its relationship to customer experience

* Expert knowledge regarding differences in quality of photo files for print and web media

* Proficient knowledge of four-color, spot, and digital printing processes and prepress requirements

* Possess an expert sense of concept development, layout composition, color theory, typography, and basic drawing skills

* Proficient written/verbal communication and presentation skills using spoken English - bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred

* Proficient organizational and problem solving skills, with the ability to handle multiple, overlapping, and potentially conflicting priorities

* Proficient ability to meet demanding, evolving and frequently overlapping deadlines

* Expert knowledge of Adobe InDesign, Adobe Photoshop, and Adobe Illustrator in a professional Macintosh OS environment

* Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office software programs, especially Word, PowerPoint and Excel

* Proficient knowledge of printing & pre-press processes

* Proficient knowledge of organizational branding and its relationship to customer experience

* Ability to respond favorably to frequent feedback, including multiple, potentially conflicting revisions

* Ability to complete design projects quickly, as needed, to ensure that the department's production objectives are achieved

* Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with others, including the ability to respond favorably to creative differences of opinion and to handle stress in a manner acceptable to others

* Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods

* Consistently demonstrates a commitment to GameStop policies and procedures, including but not limited to, attendance, confidentiality, conflict of interest, and ethical responsibilities

* Experience with photo editing, photo layout, directing a photo shoot, staging products, positioning models, lighting techniques, and camera functions in a digital environment a plus

* Retail experience a plus
