Responsibilities

The Grant Writer position within the Development Community Advisory (DCA) - Tribaleam offers a great opportunity to be a valued member of a growing team that provides grant services to public sector clients, including Tribes, municipalities, local governments, and utilities.

Looking for a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact with your grant writing and management skills? Join our DCA practice and support public sector clients in securing grant funding for transformative energy and infrastructure projects, as well as other critical needs.

You will work closely with practice leadership and play a key role in building a one-of-a-kind grant writing and management function within a leading accounting and advisory firm. This position will serve our existing public sector client base in an expanded fashion, while also acting as a catalyst to grow our grant-writing and grant-management services. You will collaborate with subject matter experts on our public sector advisory, municipal advisory, and Tribal services teams to write, review and edit grants on behalf of clients. Key functions include ensuring grant compliance, monitoring grant opportunities to secure new projects and managing existing grant-funded projects.

Responsibilities

Monitor grant opportunities and advise clients regarding opportunities that meet their critical needs:

  • Participate in strategic planning processes around grant opportunities
  • Partner with internal managers to determine applicability of grants to existing client baseMaintain and update database of grant opportunities applicable to clients
  • Develop funding plans for clients and maintain communications on any updates to the opportunities

Write, review and edit various grants for public sector clients, including Tribes, municipalities, local governments, and utilities:
  • Prepare well-crafted grant applications to assist public sector clients in securing project funding
  • Draft grant templates to streamline work processes
  • Create efficiencies to simplify grant writing when appropriate
  • Submit grants on behalf of clients and follow up with grant agencies for status updates, as requested

Project manage grant proposals:
  • Lead individual grant efforts with clients, ensuring timely drafting and submission
  • Collaborate with other team members and both internal and client subject matter experts to coordinate, develop and incorporate technical grant content
  • Coordinate larger team efforts around key grant programs to which multiple clients apply

Support grant compliance to ensure all legal requirements are followed:
  • Monitor specified grant record retention protocols
  • Ensure timely reporting, develop report narratives and complete required documentation, as appropriate
  • Assist in developing compliance processes for public sector clients
  • Handle all grant assignments with confidentiality
Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • 3 to 5 years of writing/editing experience required. Grant writing experience preferred.
  • Experience working with public sector clients-municipalities, local governments, utilities, Tribes-preferred.
  • Excellent writing, comprehension, and organizational skills.
  • Strong work ethic and willingness to work extended periods as needed based on specific grant solicitations at given times in the year.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and communication skills for internal (team) and external (client) communications.
  • Ability to work in a dynamic and fast paced environment.
  • Interest in taking something from concept to significant growth/future buildout and playing a leadership role.
Additional Information

For California, Colorado, New York and Washington: The compensation range for this role is $78,840 to $167,130. Actual compensation is influenced by a variety of factors including but not limited to skills, experience, qualifications, and geographic location.
