This is an in-person on campus, non-remote position.

As a condition of employment, you are required to provide proof of full COVID-19 vaccination prior to your start date. Vaccination cards should be submitted to hr-medrec@stockton.edu.   • Provides academic and personal advisement as needed by GOALS GEAR UP participants, delivers informative workshops regarding post-secondary education
  • Engages students regularly and help students create S.M.A.R.T goals to complete College Plans
  • Works closely with mentors and tutors
  • Facilitates and assists in the completion of FAFSA applications by students and parents, along with college applications, and facilitate or urge college enrollment
  • Gathers student information for school counselors, maintains student program records
  • Exchanges information with, school counselors, student and parents regarding NJ GEAR UP student progress and completion, and program challenges, failures and successes of participants
  • Assists GOALS GEAR UP students in the process of testing, tutoring, financial aid and loan access, and access to support services
  • Assist in developing communication content for social media networks
  • Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor
  • Ability to work weekends (at minimum, two (2) Saturday’s each month during the academic year) and evenings

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in education, youth development, counseling, or a closely related field
  • At least 1 year of experience working with low-income first-generation students
  • Demonstrated ability to relate to student population
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Valid Driver’s License

Preferred Qualifications:

  • At least 2 years of experience working with low-income first-generation students
  • Demonstrated excellent communication skills and ability to provide innovative programming
