SUMMARY: Fabricates parts, cuts and fits materials according to specifications, sands edges, bends and sizes material, glazes glass into frames and cleans machines and shop.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Fabricates parts.

Sands edges.

Read blueprints and cuts to specified length.

Drills or punches holes/slots per specifications.

Assembles parts.

Adds hardware to parts by any means stated on blueprint or as instructed by the supervisor.

Cleans machines and work area.

EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED): and one or more years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Related experience includes use of hand tools, working in a production environment and reading blueprints.

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITY REQUIREMENTS:

Ability to read blueprints and tape measure. Ability to operate a fork truck and overhead crane. Ability to organize and keep a clean shop area. Ability to use a wide variety of hand-tools and other fabrication equipment. Good mechanical skills and an understanding of metal and its properties are preferred.
