Braun Intertec is seeking a Geotechnical/Pavement Engineer to support our pavement and transportation engineering services in our Upper Midwest service area.

• Write and review geotechnical and pavement engineering reports and deliverables
• Prepare project scopes, budgets, and proposals for geotechnical and pavement-related projects
• Manage subsurface investigation activities (geotechnical coring and drilling)
• Perform soil classification and boring log preparation
• Perform a wide range of geotechnical and pavement analyses and designs
• Develop rehabilitation strategies and recommendations for pavement projects
• Perform FWD, GPR, and pavement laboratory data analysis and reporting
• Assist with fieldwork including pavement condition evaluations, FWD, GPR, coring, DCP testing
• Develop and maintain client relationships
• Perform other job duties, as assigned

Required Skills:

• Strong knowledge of geotechnical and pavement engineering fundamentals and state of the practice
• Professional experience with geotechnical and pavement design software and methods
• Experience with software and practices for geotechnical engineering, GPR and/or FWD data collection, management, analysis, and reporting
• Excellent communication, report writing and customer relations skills
• Strong computer skills including MS Office products, particularly Excel
• Ability to work independently and support multiple projects concurrently, including client communication
• Self-starter with strong client focus and interpersonal savvy

Experience:

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or Geotechnical Engineering
• Master's degree(s) in pavements, materials, or geotechnical engineering is a plus
• 3+ years of transportation pavement and/or geotechnical engineering experience
• Professional Engineer Registration in MN or the ability to obtain within 1 year
• Willing to travel (up to 25%)
• Ability to lift up to 30 to 50 pounds on a periodic basis
• Valid driver license with clean driving history
