Position Information: DescriptionThe laboratory manager works in consultation with the department chair and faculty to manage undergraduate teaching laboratories in the Physics & Astrophysics Department which serves approximately 1,200 – 1,300 students each academic year. The individual occupying this position will teach two laboratory sections each semester and must be available to fill in for a teaching assistant in the event of illness or other emergency. The primary functions of the Physics and Astrophysics Department are teaching, research and service. In accordance with the mission of the University, the Department provides physics courses for physics majors and minors, astrophysics minor, and service courses to students from other programs in the colleges of Arts & Sciences and other units of the University.
