RESPONSIBILITIES:

Kforce has a client in Chicago, IL that is seeking an GCP Cloud Architect.Summary:As is the case for many other organizations, our client has made a decision to eliminate their data centers. As new systems are being selected, SaaS is the preferred approach. Any existing applications or customer development will be developed on a cloud infrastructure. Additionally, we are in the process of moving our on-premise applications to the Google Cloud Platform (GCP). We are looking for a GCP Cloud Architect to work with our partners in leading the technical aspect of this migration. Additionally, they will leverage a hybrid cloud architecture with systems in the Oracle cloud infrastructure and AWS. The GCP Cloud Architect will continue to mature our cloud strategy working alongside our partners. Responsibilities:
  • Support the cloud migration and continue to enhance cloud operations including performance management, monitoring and building out self-service capabilities
  • Be a key contributor/collaborator as we build out our cloud infrastructure, drive new technologies, designs solutions, and resolve complex issues
  • Will work closely with 3rd party cloud hosting providers and IT partners, showing proficiency in driving vendors to problem resolution
  • Will work closely with infrastructure team, Program and Project teams as well as business stakeholders
  • Managing the cloud environment effectively will be an important piece of a successful cloud adoption program


REQUIREMENTS:

  • BS degree in Computer Science or related field experience
  • 5+ years of industry experience
  • Experience developing a framework for managing cloud performance and utilization, self-provisioning of services, containerization of applications and ongoing capacity management
  • Understanding of networking (IPv4, IPv6) and AWS networking concepts like VPC, Zones, VPC peering
  • Fundamental grounding in network security practices through the use of ACLs within firewalls, security groups, Network ACLs, etc.
  • Experience with backup and recovery strategies for critical infrastructure components
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal), establishing trust with cross functional groups like QA, Operations, and product development teams
  • Experience with containers utilizing Dockers/Kubernetes
  • Strong troubleshooting skills
  • Understanding of cloud computing and supporting systems (performance tools, monitoring, management), as well as experience designing and transferring applications to the cloud
  • Positive attitude and excellent communication skills to effectively share your knowledge
  • Broad understanding of Cloud technologies, primarily GCP with some applications residing in AWS
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills and be comfortable working with key stakeholders within the organization
Bonus:
  • Enterprise Data Warehouse ETL processes
  • Knowledge and experience with Microsoft Active Directory
  • Proficiency with SSL certificates and Microsoft Certificate Authority
  • Experience working in an Agile environment
