Position Description
The Biology department at Vassar College seeks a full-time, one-year visiting assistant professor who can teach courses in cell biology and genetics. The position carries a teaching load of 3 units in one semester and 2 units in the other, which includes teaching an intermediate level course in genetics in Fall 2024 and another intermediate level course in cell biology in Spring 2025. Both courses include a lecture and a weekly lab component. There are existing lab modules and also the possibility for implementing new modules. Experience teaching at the college level is preferred and a Ph.D. in a biological science is required at time of appointment.
Salary Wage Range
Pay Transparency Disclosure: The annual base starting salary range for this full-time visiting position is $84,000 to $88,000 (USD). When extending an offer of employment, Vassar College considers factors such as (but not limited to) candidate’s education/training, work experience, internal peer equity, as well as market and organizational considerations. This salary range represents the College’s good faith and reasonable estimate at the time of posting.
