Overview:

The Frank H. Netter MD School of Medicine at Quinnipiac University is actively seeking applicants for a full-time faculty position within the Department of Medical Sciences. We are committed to fostering equity, inclusion, and diversity within our academic community. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to contribute to a supportive and inclusive learning environment by teaching across the pre-clinical curriculum to medical students. Moreover, they will collaborate with a diverse team of medical educators from various basic and clinical science disciplines to develop instructional materials and deliver effective teaching methods that cater to the diverse needs of our student body.

This is a full-time, benefits-eligible, on-ground position.

About the School:

The Frank H. Netter MD School of Medicine at Quinnipiac University graduated its inaugural class of medical students in May 2017. The school was founded with the aim of educating diverse, patient-centered physicians who are partners and leaders in an interprofessional primary-care workforce. Our primary-care mission has expanded to include institutes for rehabilitation medicine and global public health. Our innovative integrated curriculum focuses on student-centered, active and engaged instructional excellence.

Responsibilities:

• Instruction to medical students broadly across the basic medical sciences in the Foundations of Medicine course through a variety of instructional methods including lecture, problem-based learning, team-based learning, case-based learning, and on-line teaching
• Develop, coordinate, integrate, deliver and assess curricular materials independently and in collaboration with other faculty members
• Clinician candidates may also be engaged in instruction in the clinical curriculum.
• Advise and mentor medical students regarding academic, curricular, capstone project, and career matters
• Additional specific responsibilities include scholarly activity, service on committees, and other duties as assigned

Education Requirements:

• MD, DO, or PhD degree required

Qualifications:

Experience in teaching, scholarship, and/or clinical practice of hematology is highly desirable

Successful candidates must present evidence of an established record of, or demonstrate a strong potential for, effective teaching,

Commitment to work productively with a team of medical educators from other basic and clinical science disciplines

Evidence for potential of productive scholarly and creative activity is also desired

Commitment to contribute to the diversity and inclusive excellence of the academic community
