Mayfield Ice Cream is seeking a talented individual to fill the role of Freezer Supervisor in our Homewood, Alabama plant. This position will be responsible for the day-to-day supervision and guidance of approximately 20 hourly, non-exempt employees. The schedule is Monday - Friday 12:00 PM - 9:00 PM. Candidates must be comfortable working in a cold/freezer environment (PPE provided), must be a strong people and project manager and possess strong computer skills including experience with MS Excel and inventory / warehouse management systems (WMS, DMS. SAP, AS400).

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

• Supervises all phases of shipping and/or warehouse operations including shipping schedules, loading operations and material handling activities
• Trains and instructs employees in regard to work performed in shipping and warehouse; maintains training certification records as needed
• Ensures proper procedures are in place and being followed for, production efficiency, quality of product, employee safety, food safety & quality (GMPs, SQF), as well as other regulatory, state and federal guidelines
• Responsible for scheduling and monitoring daily activities of team
• Participates in recruiting and selection process along with management and HR
• Creates and maintains an inclusive and supportive coaching culture; recognizes and celebrates high performance; holds team members accountable
• Follows guidelines set forth in the collective bargaining agreement and company policies; demonstrates and upholds the company's mission, vision, values and Code of Conduct
• Maintains inventory and product loss control, coordinates timely and accurate shipping and receiving
• Recommends improvements to reduce cost and drive productivity within the department while achieving the targeted sales to service Goals
• Analyzes and resolves work problems, or assists team members in solving work problems
• Maintains time and shipping records as required, prepares reports for management review
• Other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:

• Associate or Bachelor degree in business, industrial distribution or other related field preferred
• Experience in a freezer, warehouse or manufacturing environment required
• Supervisory experience required
• Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook and Excel required
• Experience using an ERP or WMS for warehouse inventory management preferred (i.e. AS400, NetSuite, DMS, SAP, etc.)
• Must demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills
• Must be able to adapt to changing organizational and operational needs and lead others through change
• Must thrive in a fast-paced environment
• Must be able to prioritize and provide updates on multiple tasks and areas (verbally, via email or via reporting) as needed
• Strong attention to detail and organization skills are critical
• Strong leadership skills including employment management, coaching, discipline
• Strong verbal and written (email) communication skills
• Must be able to interview, select, coach, develop, engage, and retain a team of employees
• Must be able to pass all pre-employment screens (including drug, background and criminal checks)
