Location of position: Lincoln Correctional Center
Examples of Work
Under general supervision, performs skilled supervisory work dealing with serving, planning, procurement and preparation of large quantity foods. Employees in this class perform several administrative and supervisory food service tasks on a regular basis. Work is performed independently. Manage and supervise staff, food preparation, safety and sanitation. Assist in menu planning and development. Monitor and prepare food and supply orders. Train and supervise inmate workers on food service procedures. Conduct performance evaluations on staff.
Qualifications / Requirements
REQUIREMENTS: Bachelors degree from an accredited University with emphasis in foods and nutrition, institutional management or related area OR post-high school coursework/training in related field plus four years experience in food service activities, one of which is in a responsible supervisory or management capacity.

PREFERRED Experience with managing large-scale food service operation using food service production techniques and sanitation standards. Experience working with medical and religious diets is highly desired. Experience in maintaining physical and computerized inventories . Bilingual skills in English and Spanish desired and assessed.

OTHER: Applicants accepting a job offer must pass the following pre-employment exams in this order: medical exam, and at a randomly announced time, pass a drug test. Once at the Staff Training Academy, must successfully complete the fully paid NE Corrections Training Program. Must be able to work weekends and holidays. Duties may include prolonged standing, walking and climbing stairs.
