Overview / Responsibilities

Wood Environment & Infrastructure Solutions is seeking a Senior Transportation Manager for our Transportation services group in Florida. We are looking for an individual that wants to advance their career by joining our highly collaborative Engineering Team. With a minimum of ten (15+) years of highway/roadway design and project management experience, you will lead team members to successfully complete construction documents for highway and roadway systems. Career minded professionals with self-confidence and a teachable spirit find themselves advancing quickly. As a Transportation Project Manager, you will play a key role in expanding the capabilities of our growing our transportation group. The ideal candidate has strong relationships with the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) and has served as Project Manager on FDOT Projects. This individual can live anywhere in the state of Florida as long as they are willing to travel as needed for business and client needs.

Key Responsibilities :

• Recruit key talent and manage existing transportation staff
• Build and implement sales/marketing initiatives for growth of transporation sector
• Will be responsible for participating in and managing transportation/roadway design projects
• Build up backlog by pursuing and winning work as prime and subconsultant
• Manage client communications, expectations, and satisfaction
• Develop and maintain effective client relationships
• Lead and/or assist with the coordination, development and production of proposals, SOQs and presentations, ensuring the highest quality of information and documentation output

Skills / Qualifications

Role Requirements :

• Bachelor of Science, as a Civil Engineer from an accredited college/university
• 15+ years as a Transportation/Roadway Engineer/Project Manager
• Self-starter with strong oral and written communications skills
• Detail oriented, proactive individual who takes ownership of their work
• Proficiency in following software:
  • Microsoft Office Suite: Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project
  • Inroads, MicroStation - latest FDOT requirements
  • Experience with 3D modeling preferred
• Candidates must be familiar with FDOT design project delivery network and project advertising
• Availability to work outside normal business hours as required
• Ability and willingness to travel. Approximately 25% overnight travel

Preferred Qualifications :

• Florida Professional Engineers License
• Leadership positions within public institution-oriented associations
• Ability to develop and maintain strong client relationship and win work
• Motivated to develop business from new and existing clients
