Key Responsibilities:

Tropicana Brands Group is looking for a highly qualified Fleet Mechanic to support the Fleet Maintenance Manager to ensure the company's goals and initiatives are met.

This role will be responsible for maintaining TBG's Private Fleet of refrigerated tractor trailers in accordance with all Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations. In addition, this individual will be responsible for maintaining all site electric forklifts, yard switchers, and electric floor scrubbers currently in operation within the warehouse. Tropicana is looking for a critical thinker with exceptional communication, influencing, and relationship management skills who thrives in a fast-paced environment.

Additional responsibilities include:

  • Complete work in compliance with all safety and DOT regulations and procedures
  • Complete routine PMI's and repairs on 23 diesel tractors, 91 refrigerated trailers, 43 36v electric forklifts, 2 diesel yard switchers, 3 36v electric floor scrubbers, and a variety of other site vehicles such as pick-up trucks, fueling tanker, front end loaders, etc.
  • Fueling tractors and refrigerated trailers when necessary
  • Utilize diagnostic software to troubleshoot tractor engine/transmission faults
  • Operate snowplows and salters during inclement weather
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and focus efforts on an ambiguous work environment

Professional Experience / Qualifications:

  • 2-3 years' experience in the fleet maintenance industry
  • Familiar with DOT PMI regulations and procedures
  • Familiar with a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) for all workorders and parts usage
  • Ability to work shift work
  • Ability to work mid-week overtime and weekends as required
  • Possess own tools and toolbox
  • Effective shift-to-shift communication skills with other fleet mechanics and the ability to effectively interact with site management team as necessary

The salary range for this position is $38.07 hourly.
