Position Summary:
The Fiscal Technician II for the Idaho EPSCoR Office performs a variety of complex, high volume financial and administrative operations and professional customer service with minimal supervision and with extreme accuracy in a time sensitive manner. Fiscal duties include processing financial documents and transactions; producing financial reports by analyzing and researching financial history; reconciling financial transactions; and communicating laws, rules, and policies to Idaho EPSCoR constituents. Administrative support functions include composing correspondence and meeting minutes; coordinating videoconference room and teleconference schedules; maintaining and monitoring Idaho EPSCoR Office equipment; assisting with travel arrangements; conducting annual inventory and insurance certificate renewal; and general office duties.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • One year providing financial or business process support within established policies and procedures.
  • Using computer software and applications for researching and compiling financial information, preparing summaries and reports.


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in a business-related field; four years of experience in a financial and/or higher education job.
  • Two years related work experience in bookkeeping, administrative support or office management.
  • Experience analyzing information, identifying problems, defining alternatives and developing recommendations for management/administrators.
  • Experience interpreting, applying, and explaining regulations, policies, procedures, or services.
  • Working independently and as part of a team.
  • Experience working with financial operating systems such as BANNER, Argos, Chrome River or other systems to enter, retrieve and edit financial data.
  • Experience working in a higher education, public or governmental organizations.
  • Experience balancing and coordinating a workload for multiple projects.
  • Knowledge of standard accounting principles and budgeting procedures.
  • Knowledge of MS Office Suite or other similar office management software including intermediate to high-level user of MS Excel (pivot tables, macros, etc.).
