Position Summary:
Provides executive and financial assistance to the College of Education, Health and Human Sciences Deans' Office and Department of Movement Sciences (MS) by performing high-level assignments and ensuring effective interoffice communication, management, and coordination.Provides direction to MS Department Chair on university fiscal procedures/regulations and state regulations. Provides supervision, oversight, and management to Movement Sciences, on all budget, fiscal, and payroll issues. Oversees facility rentals and equipment inventory; processing payroll forms and electronic personnel action forms; evaluation and approving financial transactions; and tracking and monitoring internal awards, all of which requires a thorough knowledge of university policies and procedures and the ability to explain these to others.



Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • One year of work-related experience.
  • Experience interpreting and applying laws and regulations and developing, organizing, and implementing administrative projects and procedures.
  • Experience maintaining accounts and accounting systems; analyzing and interpreting financial information; developing financial reports; making projections; monitoring budget including allocating funds, expenditures, and reconciling accounts.
  • Experience using personal computer to enter, retrieve, and edit financial data.


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelors in Business or related field.
  • 3 years of work-related experience.
  • Proficient in the use of the UI Banner system, Vandal Web, Argos, Chrome River, and COWS.
  • Good knowledge of: office support functions including word processing, spreadsheets, filing, composing a variety of business documents, and researching, compiling, and summarizing data for reports.
  • Ability to work in a professional manner (e.g., effective communication skills) in a busy atmosphere while providing excellent customer service.
