The Financial Analyst - Corporate Accounting is responsible for accounting and analysis within Mosaic's North American, Corporate and certain global businesses, in compliance with US GAAP and SEC Reporting requirements, and financial controls to maintain accurate financial data within Mosaic's global financial statement. Responsibilities will include preparing and analyzing financial reporting templates, balance sheet flux analysis, BPC cash flow templates, and working with internal and external auditors while providing analysis and support in other areas including Fixed Assets, Reporting, Operations, Commercial and Inventory Accounting.

What will you do?

  • Strategic Initiative Accounting and Analysis: Prepare and analyze various strategic initiatives including Mosaic's investments in Anuvia, Streamsong, BioConsortia, Lewis & Clark, SP Ventures and other new investments as needed. Partner with the Mosaic Strategy team on various other activities including venture capital funds.
  • Reporting and Financial Analysis: Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly and annual financial reporting templates, BPC cash flow templates, and other internal and external reporting. Participate in and lead assigned portions of the preparation of the Corporate balance sheet flux analysis report.
  • Audit Process & SOX Compliance: Perform various financial and accounting analysis required to support internal and external audit requests. Coordinate with internal and external auditors on monthly, quarterly and year-end audit requests and related analysis.
  • Corporate Accounting Support: Provide analysis and support for other Corporate Accounting areas such as Fixed Assets, Reporting, Operations, Commercial and Inventory Accounting by assisting in the preparation of various monthly, quarterly and annual reporting and other management reports as needed.
  • Other: Complete other job duties and projects as assigned.

What do you need for this role?
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or Business with an emphasis in Accounting or Finance required
  • 3+ years of finance, accounting or financial analysis experience
  • Strong working knowledge of financial and accounting concepts and practices
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and the ability to apply these principles in practice
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) with advanced Excel skills
  • Experience/knowledge of SAP preferred
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work with employees at all levels within the organization
