This position will be located in the plains states (ie: KS, NE, IA...) with the flexibility to work remotely from a virtual home office.

The Field Sales Engineer is responsible to manage all customer relationships at all stages of the sales cycle at specific customers within the assigned geographic region for Thomson. It includes the development of specific action plans, account objectives, effective countermeasures to misses or direction.

Responsibility in managing the region includes advocating for the needs of the customer base; leading and managing sales activities; implementing and achieving account sales plans; providing technical solutions / support / assistance; providing customer feedback and needs to the organization to assist in the planning process; and cultivating relationships with industry partners to strengthen our position in the marketplace.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Management of all aspects of the customer relationship and sales cycle at OEM customers
  • Development, management, and support of strategic distributor partners to drive successful growth.
  • Develop regional distribution network and formalize distribution polices and agreements.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date customer records for funnel management, meetings, contacts, and history in Sales Force.com.
  • Provide application expertise, leadership, direction, and sales support of assigned territory.
  • Work closely with Inside Sales, Customer Service, and Technical Support personnel at Thomson Customer Support (TCS)

Job Requirements
Education and Experience Requirements
  • Bachelors' Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or the equivalent in Industry Experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of successful Motion Control (Electrical and / or Mechanical) Sales or Marketing experience.
  • Proven ability to sell at multi-level complex accounts incorporating technical application-selling and long selling cycles.
