PRIMARY POSITION FUNCTION/SUMMARY:

SHIELD Illinois is a screening testing program and infrastructure that deploys the University of Illinois' innovative saliva test across the state. We save lives by curbing the spread of COVID-19, while reducing productivity loss and prioritizing employee wellbeing. SHIELD Illinois uses cutting-edge PCR technology and robotics to deliver fast reliable results to patients. We strive to have a positive impact on patients' lives across Illinois by making complicated testing and long turnaround times a thing of the past. The Regional Team Leader will head our day-to-day management of our testing operations at client sites in the Field Operations division. Duties include overseeing inventory and personnel management, quality control, and vehicle routes for a small group of on-site team leaders. This role will also assist with developing processes, schedules for employees, and ensuring a positive working environment/culture. Each Regional Team Leader will have 3-6 Team Leaders reporting to them. With the assistance of team leaders, the Regional Team Leader will also engage in relationship management with client sites, develop testing schedules, and implement appropriate processes for each site.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Quality Control of Testing Operations
  • Oversee inventory concerns and ordering, as needed
  • Determine vehicle routes and assignments as needed
  • Attend daily operations briefings with Field Operations Leadership
  • Develop processes for training large amounts of new employees in a centralized way
  • Utilize a scheduling platform for testing team employees
  • Travel to different regional client sites as needed
  • Supervise up to 3-6 direct reports
  • Represent testing team interests to our corporate environment
  • Help diffuse conflict on testing teams to promote a positive work environment
  • Ensure positive interactions with clients, patients, and partners alike
  • Encourage a supportive team framework
  • Other responsibilities, projects, or tasks as needed
  • Assisting time timesheets and personnel management
  • Performance management at a team or individual level

QUALIFICATIONS

Required
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Based on institutional requirements, current/valid State of Illinois driver's license for the type of vehicle(s) to be operated.

Preferred
  • Experience presenting information to diverse groups of people
  • Experience in Higher Education, Healthcare, or Government work
  • Experience working on a COVID testing site interacting with patients
  • Experience working with COVID-19 screening or transport
  • Previous experience working in a start-up environment

This is a full-time Civil Service Public Health Response Specialist position appointed on a 12-month service basis. The expected start date is as soon as possible after the close of the search. Salary will be commensurate with experience.
